The Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority (MAST) has approved amendments to five of Kaldvík’s operating licences, adding permission to use fertilised Atlantic salmon eggs from AquaGen Profunda in Norway at the company’s land-based facilities.
We welcome the additional sourcing option, alongside our existing permission to use eggs from Benchmark Genetics. The amendments apply to these five facilities, with permitted maximum biomass unchanged.
The new permission is specific to AquaGen Profunda and remains subject to MAST’s conditions, including requirements for fish health, biosecurity, escape prevention and traceability.
Fish health and responsible farming remain central to our operations, and we look forward to sharing further updates as we take the next steps.
